To the airport we venture!

This morning we woke up super early after a night of terrible sleep to get ready and catch a taxi to the airport.

The moon was bright and very much out when we were waiting for our taxi, as you can see above!

It was freezing and windy, but somehow we managed to stand outside to await our taxi. Fortunately we got a wonderful taxi driver! He was actually FROM Europe (he lived in Ireland and England) and he chatted with us the whole way there, joking along with us! It was a lovely start to the adventure!

Here I am with Flynn waiting to check in :)

When we got to the airport we sat around for quite a while using the wonderful free wifi, watching people walk past. (There was one guy with really pretty suitcases! I think he's catching our flight!) We'll have to fill out some paperwork, then head through security.

I am jealous of all my friends who are probably fast asleep right now, in their warm beds!! Anyways, wish us luck as we venture through security into the heart of the airport!!

Off to Sydney we go!

In less than an hour we'll be on the road to Sydney. Our bags are all over the lounge room, and everyone has been frantically weighing bags and accordingly adding and removing items! Ironically, I had pizza for the last lunch I'll have in Australia for 6 weeks!

It's finally starting to set in that we're actually going to go to these countries. Until now, our trip has been something that we've simply talked about, yet never actually could picture! I can say for a fact that I won't be able to sleep well tonight, and I'm most certainly not looking forward to the 2am wake up call that we're expecting! But, you never know! These weird sleep patterns may actually help us with Jet lag!

I can't wait to get into the airport tomorrow! From our last international adventure, I remember growing to love the vibe you feel when you're waiting to board! All the strange people around, and so many accents!

Talking about accents... I'm VERY excited to be able to hear amazing British, Scottish, French and more amazing accents everywhere we go! There's always that feeling of surprise when you walk up to check-out at a store and hear a voice that is not Australian... it gets me every time!

So as a quick run-down, here's what tomorrow has in store for us:
-VERY early wake-up call
-VERY early taxi drive to the airport
-VERY early and loooong flight to our stop-over destination (I'll be boarding as my friends are waking up to get ready for school!)
-8-ish hour wait in our stop-over destination
-Another VERY early and even looooooonger flight to London

Well that's all for now! I apologise for the boring details that you probably aren't even interested in! Expect another update soon :)

4 sleeps to go

Okay, so now things are getting real. I only have one day of school left before the trip! I'll have this weekend to get completely prepared, but time is flying. Today some of my saved up cash was converted into pounds (BTW, pounds are way bigger than I thought they'd be) which is pretty cool!

Okay to be honest I don't really have too much to write about since I'm not actually IN Europe yet... but stay tuned because this time next week I will be well and truly in the magical land of Europe!

Well that's all for now! Adios.

Three weeks to go

This is it. The countdown begins. The clocks are ticking, the countdowns are ending and the packs are being packed. It's officially three weeks until we're off to Europe.

I apologise for the drama, but I do believe that it was 100% necessary to portray the mixture of excitement and nerves that I'm feeling as the weeks until our trip become less and less. Our bag packing has begun (so that we can feel less stressed later) and I am get super excited. All my friends at school are officially mad at me for leaving them for 6 weeks (and it might have something to do with the fact that I'm leaving them to go to Europe...) and will not let me hear the end of it. I've finished my exams, I'm done with most of my assignments, and I'm ready for this adventure to begin!

6 weeks, 9 European Countries and 6 family members.

The countdown is on!
